IC Catholic Prep’s Wrestling team sent six (6) individual wrestlers plus an alternate to this year’s State Meet for individual competition.
“The Knights broke the school record for state qualifiers at the Bowen Sectional,” said Kevin Sliva, wrestling head coach. “We are tremendously proud of this young team and all that they have accomplished. Thank you to all the parents, fans, and administrators that travelled to come support the team and coaches!”
This year, Saul Trejo, Jr.—a freshman—claimed the State title for Class 1A, 106lbs.

Nicholas Renteria earned the fourth place medal in Class 1A, 120lbs. It was a very successful individual effort by the Knights Wrestling team.
“There is so much more to look forward to with this dynamic, young team,” said Sliva. “Our pack is destined for great things and we couldn’t be more proud of our student-athletes for their hard work on and off the mats.”
